We regret that we
are no longer able to offer the following products through
Heavensedge Communications.
We are leaving the comprehensive infomation about these wonderful
recordings as a tribute in memory of our good friend, Ron Weathers, who along with his
partners was instrumental in the creation of the Mountain Glory Gospel recordings. |

If you love choirs and beautiful Christian music
that blesses, this is it.
Imagine the best gospel choir you ever heard;
add in some of the finest Southern Gospel songs ever penned;
top that off with well known, beloved special guests like
Eva Mae LeFevre, Squire Parsons, Naomi Sego
Reader,
Arthur Rice ang 'Big' Jim Hamill;
and you have the recipe for the Mountain
Glory Gospel Series.
These recordings represent the pinnacle of the
life's work of noted engineer & producer Eddie Swan; musician, arranger &
choirmaster, Art Bain; and producer and promoter Ron Weathers.The Mountain Glory Gospel Series concept is simple:
Choose well loved hymns and gospel songs & create great vocal and musical
arrangements;
Invite as many veteran gospel groups and singers as the building will hold;
Pre-record great music tracks with top studio musicians;
Make sure the singers know the arrangements ahead of time;
Get everyone together in one place and one accord;
Have prayer; then Sing the Glory Down!
The Mountain Glory Gospel
producers may not have invented the concept of a mass SGM choir;
and perhaps some of the talented singers on these recordings are not familiar names to
you;
but when you hear them, I know you will agree that they are second to none!
These recordings lift my spirit as well as - sometimes even
better than- any I've ever heard.
Simply put, it doesn't get any
better than this. |

This Is Mountain Glory
By: Sandi
Duncan Clark
There are very few fans of
southern Gospel music, who have not seen or do not own one of the many Gaither Homecoming
Videos. This phenomenon swept our country and several foreign countries in the '80s, and
continues to be a hit well into this new century.
Ron Weathers, Eddie Swan and Art Bain have the basic concept of the
Gaither videos incorporated into their Mountain Glory Gospel projects, with a couple of
major differences. Ron Weathers has been involved in Gospel music in the marketing side of
the business for several years. Eddie Swan and Art Bain have both been involved with the
recording side of Gospel music for a number of years, and when these gentlemen put their
heads together, they came up with an idea that has proven to be a winner.
Mountain Glory Gospel came into being in June of 2000. Ron, Eddie and
Art wanted to involve the independent artists who did not have a record label or a
promoter, in something that would promote their ministry and allow fans to hear their
music. This is the major difference from the Gaither recordings. The three gentlemen began
by contacting an average of twenty artists per recording project, inviting them to come
together for a huge "jam" session to sing in the "Mountain Glory Gospel
choir."
Art Bain is the vocal/musical producer. He works with the singers
preparing them for each recording. He also produces the music tracks, working with studio
musicians to create an excellent musical foundation for each song.
Art has produced for many well-known artists in the industry, and is
known for his expertise in the studio. Over the past three years, he has selected grand
old gospel songs and hymns that we've heard for many years, and arranged them suited to
the four-part harmony form of southern Gospel music.
Some of these songs are our old church hymns like "Nothing But The
Blood" and "Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus." Others are songs from the red
Church Hymnal that many of us grew up with in our church choirs. Some of these good old
Gospel songs are "I'll Live In Glory," "I Feel Like Traveling On" and
"On The Jericho Road." All the music is up-beat and exciting. Art encourages the
singers to be enthusiastic with the music and everyone has a great time during the
"singing."
The seven recordings completed since June of 2000 have been recorded in a
variety of settings. One was recorded in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at the Ramada Inn
Convention Center and featured Arthur Rice of the Kingdom Heirs. Another was filmed in
Atlanta, Georgia and was titled "Atlanta Homecoming." I was privileged to attend
the one filmed at the National Quartet Convention in 2001, which featured the grand lady
of Gospel music, Eva Mae LeFevre. Volume seven was filmed in North Carolina at Grace
Community Church and featured Jim Hamill.
Two videos have been released, recorded at the same time of the albums.
Volume 4 which featured Squire Parsons, and Volume 7 with Jim Hamill are the two albums
with companion videos.
"Our goal is to allow independent groups to participate in
something that will benefit their ministry," Ron Weathers shared. "We encourage
these groups to be a part of this venture, and they have the privileged to buy product to
sell on their record table."
Ron continued, "I've had orders for product from a number of
foreign countries and all across the United States. The recordings are available in both
cassette tape and CD format, along with the two videos."
Roughly 20 groups or soloists appear on each recording. None of the
groups are featured on any song, which is the other major difference in the Mountain Glory
Gospel series. All of the music is choir music, with the exception of the featured
national artist.
"We didn't want the series to be copied exactly after the Gaither
format, in that no one group or artist is featured over and over again. While some of the
same singers appear on each album, they are never featured on a song. The entire choir
sings and occasionally, if we have a featured national artist, that particular artist will
sing and the choir joins in on the chorus. We have featured a national artist several
times, and have found it to be a draw to the fans, since these folks are well known to the
fans."
Ron also tells us that the music is shipped to radio all across the
country and he has been excited by some of the comments received from DJs. "We've
also shipped our videos to many television programs for airing on special Gospel music
video shows. Gospel Music Television is continually using the two we have available."
The next project from Mountain Glory Gospel has been scheduled for
spring of 2004. Ron states that current plans are to do another video along with the
recording. Any group who does not travel full-time and who does not have a major record
label contract may participate. You may contact Ron Weathers at 828-687-2854 for the
details or to order your personal copy of these recordings. |
