Ron,

    Here are some pictures of McKinley Croy Moody.  He was born 10:36 AM on Jan 17, 2003. He weighed in at 8 lbs even and was 20 inches long. He is better known as Mack.  Proud parents are Cristy and Lincoln Moody. More proud grandparents are Marlin & Susan Shubert, Larry and Deb Moody and Sandy and David Atkins.  Baby, parents and grandparents are doing fine. LOL

    I thoroughly enjoyed this weekend. Everything seemed to go fine. Looking forward to Warner Robbins on the first of March.

     I have been involved in real estate since 1996 and closed my car lot in 1997.  Our youngest daughter, Kim, studied law at the law school at the University of Alabama, after graduation from Birmingham Southern.

    Cristy works for the Walker Community Foundation.  Lincoln is a middle school teacher and coaches the 7th and 8th grade girl’s basketball teams.  Susan is a mom and doting Grandma.  So that is a brief family history and what’s going on.

The MARLIN SHUBERT FAMILY

The FIRST FAMILY of  JASPER, ALABAMA (at least we think so!)

    The Inspirations' second bass singer, Marlin Shubert, came to the group from his family group, The Shubert's, and Marlin loves to sing, but he just couldn't stay away from his hometown sweetheart, so he left the group and returned to Jasper to marry Susan Crump.

    Marlin and Susan were married in 1972 and Marlin became a car salesman at Susan's dad's lot.
NO JOKES, PLEASE
;
We'll vouch for Marlin's integrity!) Shortly thereafter, Marlin opened his own car lot which he operated until 1997. He now sells real estate with Byars Realty in Jasper, Alabama, and like all the Inspirations, he's still singing -with his family- when time permits.

    Marlin and Susan have two daughters; Christy, who graduated from Birmingham Southern in 1996 and now works for First Look in Birmingham; and Kim who is a sophomore at Birmingham Southern majoring in business.

    The Shuberts are still very excited about Christy's May 29, 1999 wedding to Lincoln Moody. In fact, the newlyweds came to Bryson City with Marlin and Susan when we held our 1999 reunion.

     When we see tragic stories on the national news channels we rarely think that they may be about people we actually know.

     When we first saw the story about the small airplane that crashed near Jasper, Alabama, on Sunday, June 30, 2008, we did not know that these were our good friends, the Crump family. The Crumps are our former bass singer, Marlin Shubert's, brother-in-law, Bobby Crump; his wife, Jan; and their son, Matthew. Matthew's girlfriend, Lauren Brue was also on the plane. The crash was fatal to all.

     Marlin's wife is the former Susan Crump, Bobby's sister. Many of you know that Marlin sang bass for the Inspirations in the early 1970s, and he is also featured on the Reunion DVD.

     Our prayers are with the Crump, Shubert and Brue families and friends as they go this difficult time.
