DALE JONES ~ Steel Guitar

DaleJonesFamily.gif (31969 bytes)

Dale traveled with the Inspirations from 1976 through 1982. During that time, Dale recorded an instrumental tape with Roger Fortner which they titled,  "GOLDEN INSTRUMENTALS.

In 1982, Dale joined the REX NELON SINGERS, and as providence would have it, the Nelons sang at a church in Pell City, Alabama where Dale met his future bride, Cindi. They were married in 1989.

Dale tells us that the cassette of the recording is available from:

Dale Jones, P O Box 356, Odenville, AL 35620

But the star of the Jones home is COLLIN MATTHEW JONES,
Dale & Cindi's son who celebrated  his 11th birthday on May 1, 2009.
This photo was made when Collin was about 1 1/2 years of age

Dale Jones' Mom Goes HomeAnim_RoseBud.gif (2761 bytes)

Mrs. Wanda M. Jones, beloved mother of Dale Jones, suffered a heart attack at her home in Akron, Ohio, on Friday, February 22, 2002. She was 76 years of age.

She and her husband of 58 years, Donald, were at home when he noticed that she was slumping and unable to speak. Paramedics were called, the crew quickly arrived,  and she was transported to a nearby Akron hospital. Dale said that she told his Dad to "please tell them not to turn on the sirens" worrying that it would concern her neighbors.

The doctors began treatment, but a stoke occurred, and she became paralyzed on one side. Treatments became increasingly less effective over the next few days, as she entered a coma. Shortly after midnight on Monday night/Tuesday morning, February 26, 2002, angels entered the room, and Mrs. Jones went home to meet her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Services were held at her home church, The Chapel, with many lifelong friends and family members present, and the interment took place in an Akron cemetery.

Though a nearly life long resident of Akron, Mrs. Jones was born in LaFollette, Tennessee, into a family which numbered 12 children. She loved the annual family reunions which take place in Winchester each year, and she loved Southern Gospel music and singers, especially the groups that Dale played for (The Nelons, the Mashburns, and the Inspirations). In addition to Mr. Jones, 79,  and Dale and his family, she is survived by an older son, Dan, and three siblings.

In honor and memory of Mrs. Wanda Jones; and for all the other close friends,
fellow laborers and associates who are no longer with us, we offer the following verse.
Our prayer is that it will give you the same solace it provides for us.

DEATH IS NOT DEATHAnim_NewLife.jpg (3670 bytes)

"Death is not death if you know the Lord. It is merely a change of place,
a change of state, a transfer from one realm to another.

Death is not death, if it kills no part of us,
except that which has hindered us from the perfect life.

Death is not death, if it raises us in a moment from darkness to light,
from weakness to strength, from sinfulness to holiness.

Death is not death, if it perfects our faith by making it sight
and lets us behold Him in whom we have believed.

Death is not death, if it rids us of doubt and fear,
sickness and disease, of sorrow and sadness.

Death is not death, if it gives us to those we loved and lost,
for whom we lived, whom we long to live with again.

Death is not death,
for Christ has conquered death for Himself, and for those who trust in Him
."
